This Setsubun colorway of the women’s Nike Dunk High Up is a nod to Japanese mythology, the Seven Lucky Gods or Seven Gods of Fortune who are believed to grant good luck and are often represented in netsuke and in artworks. Done in a Sail suede base, the sneaker is given Orange hairy suede overlays as well as Purple leather Swooshes alongside Gold mini embroidered Swooshes. Elsewhere you will find a “demon” motif on the lateral heel atop a White rubber sole with semi-translucent trim. Other notable details include insoles that features another piece of artwork from the late Edo. This time it’s Kuniyoshi Utagawa’s depiction of Japan’s Seven Lucky Gods (Ebisu, Hotei, Benzaiten, Bishamonten, Daikokuten, Jurōjin, and Fukurokuju).
